On Tuesday Jan. 26th. I had an interview with Shelly Wilkison, from Liberty Hill, who is the President of the Free State Media and the Managing Editor of Radio Free Liberty Hill. During the interview we talked about The proposed Hwy. 29 corridor that is suppose to by-pass south of Liberty Hill. I believe that if this corridor is built, it will cause the businesses of Liberty Hill to lose much needed revenue because there will be less traffic going through Liberty Hill. I also believe that when this highway is opened up to traffic it will be a toll road. I believe that the easiest way to relieve the traffic in Liberty Hill is to widen the existing Highway 29 and have paved shoulders with right hand turn lanes.

Next I talked about Ranch Road 1869. R.R. 1869 runs from Hwy. 183 through Liberty Hill south to the Burnet County line. This road is very dangerous. It only is two narrow lanes wide with several very narrow bridges and no shoulders along it's route. This road should be upgraded A.S.A.P. On weekends many people ride their bicycles along this road and when there is oncoming traffic there is no where to go so people have to slow way down until the traffic passes and then they can get around the bikers. The current County Commissioners are so concerned about extending  Ronald Reagan Blvd. from hwy. 29 past F.M. 3405 that they are ignoring many of our roads that get much more traffic than that road. This is wrong.  One of my main goals after being elected County Commissioner is to get R.R. 1869 upgraded so that is safe for everyone to drive on.

I also talked about the E.M.S. board in Liberty Hill. I believe that all members of any E.M.S. board in Williamson Co. should be elected in the general election and not be appointed.

I was asked what I thought about the fire departments in Williamson Co.,  I said that I believe they are doing a great job. Along with that I also said that the law enforcement people are doing a very good job here in Williamson Co.

Williamson Co. is a great place to live and with some much needed changes in the Commissioners Court and fixing our roads it will be an even better place to live and raise families. We are experiencing a growth boom in this area and an upgraded road infrastructure will move us into the next level.

As your Commissioner I will a strong leader so that we can fix these issues and more. I will work hard to represent the citizens of Precinct #2. I will do my best to help ballance the budget and to get rid of the "red" in our counties budget. We must make these changes this year and not with for four more years of the "Good Old Boy system" that is currently in place. I am the right person for the job.
